Rules and conditions of the AAHCH SSA
Buyers and sellers must be member of the AAHCH. If not they can become a member simultaneous when buying the breeding. Bought breedings cannot be resold to others.

The breeding can only be bought for mares, who meet the requirements as mentioned in the rule book of the Appaloosa Horse club Inc.

The start amount at the auction must be at least half of the normal stud fee, yet at least €225,-. The offer must be at least € 25,00 higher than the previous offer or the mentioned amount with that stud on the internet site. The breeding goes to that person with the highest offer.

Stallions can be signed in for the SSA up to the day the SSA is held. without any costs. If you want to sign in your stud after this day we will charge € 35,--.

Breedings that are not sold during the SSA can still be bought up to the 15th of January of the following year the SSA is held in. Offers can only be made written (letter, e-mail) and send to: AAHCH, Roderwolderweg 1, 9314 TA Foxwolde or E-mail to Dit e-mailadres is beschermd tegen spambots. U heeft Javascript nodig om het te kunnen zien. .

On the 15th of January at 20.00 hours the first part of the SSA closes. The happy owner of the internet sale will be notified by the AAHCH.

As from the 16th January the still remaining breedings will be sold to the first offer on the website for the mentioned amount. Offers can be made until the 31st of May of the following year the SSA is held in (after the official SSA).

The sold breeding applies to the breeding season next to the year the SSA-breeding was bought. The breeding only applies to the same mare.

The amount of the offer on the participating stud must be paid within 8 days to the AAHCH. When this amount is received by the AAHCH you receive a payment affirmative of the SSA coordinator. This payment affirmative satisfies as a tender for the breeding of the mare to the stud owner. The stud owner must pay attention that this payment affirmative is in fact shown when breeding a mare.

There is no business relation between the stud owner and the AAHCH or between the mare owner and the AAHCH.

All appointments concerning the breeding are up to the stud owner and the owner of the mare. To make sure nobody gets disappointed it is well thought-out that the mare owner informs the stud owner for the breeding conditions before making an offer.

When the stud owner can not come up to the contracted obligation (for example because of sale of the stud), the stud owner pays back the amount paid by the mare owner. The only exception on this is an unexpected dead of the stud. In this case the money is paid back by the AAHCH to the mare owner.

All costs of stalling, transport, veterinary and remaining costs which have to be made for the mare, will be at the expense of the purchaser of the breeding.

SSA English
The AAHCH organizes a Stallion Service Auction (SSA) annually. This is a sale by auction on which one can offer on breeding to the SSA participating stallions. The earnings of this sale by auction do not go to the stud owner, but comes in the futurity fund. The stud owner has, as it happens, given the earnings of sale of one breeding to the AAHCH.

Buying a breeding by the SSA has large advantages:
  • You have the chance of buying a breeding for less than the regular stud fee.
  • You can take part with a foal/4 year old horse in the futurity and possibly earn some money back.
  • You can take part with your foal/4 year old horse for a reduced amount in the futurity.

By offering a breeding to the AAHCH SSA gives the stud owner advantages, of course only when the breeding have been sold:
  • You can offer your remaining customers as extra service, that they can participate their foals/4 year old horses in the futurity. By participating they can also earn some money back.
  • By participating to the SSA your stud gets extra attention by publications made by the AAHCH. A photograph of your stud and additional information can be put on the web site of the AAHCH. Text and photographs you need to give to the AAHCH. You can send this by email to Dit e-mailadres is beschermd tegen spambots. U heeft Javascript nodig om het te kunnen zien. or via post to AAHCH, Roderwolderweg 1, 9314 TA  Foxwolde.
  • During the futurity the name of the dam of the participating foal/4 year old horse will be brought under the attention of the public. This is also an extra promotion for your stud.
  • If the breeding will not be sold, but you nevertheless want to use of the advantages of participating to the SSA, then you can also buy the breeding yourself.

Important: Although crossing an Appaloosa with an approved breed (as the ghQuarter Horse) still has been permitted, an important registration restriction applies (see rule 231 from the rule book of the Appaloosa Horse club Inc.) to foals born on or after 1 January 2002. If the foal is a solid the foal is not eligible for the CPO program. This means that the foal can not participate in ApHC approved shows. A solid foal out of an Appaloosa x Appaloosa can be registered in the CPO program.
